old doctor hsu sat next to me sticking needles in my arms. for him, it was a routine, something he had no doubt done a thousand times.
for me, it was different. it wasn't traumatic or especially uncomfortable, but you'd think that for one minute the guy could stop talking about how badly he wants to upgrade his computer's operating system. or how fast he can download pornography now that he bought the fast internet connection.
i wanted to walk. call the whole thing off and just stand up and go out. i stuck around till the end for the results. grasses, weeds, pollens, cats, molds, and tall pine trees. just as i had suspected. the no-good entities in the natural world were ganging up on me. where's my shiv at?
